The firm has a robust dispute resolution team led by Akin OSINBAJO who recently returned from sabatical in public service as, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ogun State of Nigeria.

Some landmark cases resolved in favour of our clients include:

  • Representing the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) in a case emanating from the  post-privatization acquisition of OANDO (Unipetrol);
  • In a landmark test case, Beta Consortium vs. Securities & Exchange Commission (2004, Investments and Securities Tribunal), the firm represented Beta Consortium to contest a SEC decision, and succeeded in getting a declaratory judgement which established the limits of SEC authority in Federal Government privatization acquisitions;
  • Representing Niger-Valley Foods against one of the top six(6) Nigerian banks, wherein Niger-Valley won a Substantial sum in counterclaim against the bank;
  • Representing Novartis AG and Novartis Pharma Services Inc. in a suit with cross-border implications;
  • Representing the Estate of Dr. Sonny Dankaro at the Investments and Securities Tribunal and succeeded to recover the sum of NGN450 Million (US$3 Million), fraudulently converted by Stockbrokers.
  • Representing Nigeria Airways, as its counsel in arbitration proceedings between International Merchant Bank and 13 others vs. Nigeria Airways. We succeeded in getting arbitral awards that reduced US$7.2 Million from amounts claimed by the Claimants.
